Two People in High Vis Jackets

Principal’s Blog 2

Welcome all to my second blog post as Principal of Shireland Technology Primary School.

After what seems like a very long time, we are now fast approaching the first term and opening of our school in September. We have been overwhelmed with applications, questions and lovely comments. We open with two full Reception Classes and one full Year One class and made the last of our teaching appointments last week. This means that all of our teachers are in place and ready for their induction and training over the Summer. We are so lucky to have such high calibre teachers joining us.

All classroom furniture has been ordered and I was very fortunate to go and visit the Community that make the handcrafted furniture and see the quality of what they produce. Please take a look at the video that explains how they work.

There will be a Parent Information Evening on 3rd July and we look forward to meeting families and sharing updates on the school day, home visits, pupil induction and Family Fridays. There will also be a Welcome Pack that contains important and useful information.

Finally, this week was a very exciting time as it was the first chance we had to go and visit the new building. Miss Keeler, our Vice Principal, and myself were amazed at how much space we have and were able to visualise how things are going to be and work for us and the children. Hoping that we can arrange another visit in June and take more photos to share.

Wishing everyone a great Summer Half Term and looking forward to seeing families on 3rd July at Shireland Collegiate Academy.
